Arrest Made in Christmas Morning Attack: Stabbing and Baseball Bat Assault Rock San Antonio Celebration

San Antonio, Texas — A man is in custody following a violent incident on Christmas morning that involved a stabbing and physical assault with a baseball bat. Authorities arrested 61-year-old Ruben Licea after a Christmas gathering turned chaotic around 1:30 a.m. in the 5900 block of Castle Hunt.

Licea’s arrest stems from a longstanding dispute with a 56-year-old victim, which culminated in the early morning attack. Witnesses reported that tensions flared during the festivities, leading Licea and several companions to confront the victim and his son.

According to law enforcement, after leaving the gathering following an argument, Licea and his associates returned to launch an assault. During the altercation, the victim was stabbed in the chest, while the son suffered a blow to the head from a baseball bat. Both victims are presently recovering from their injuries.

At least three individuals, including Licea, were involved in the confrontation, but police have confirmed that two suspects remain unidentified and at large. Licea is currently being held on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, with bail set at $75,000.

Authorities are continuing their investigation but have not provided any updates on the other suspects involved in the incident. Neighbors expressed concern over the violence, emphasizing the growing need for community safety measures amid rising tensions in the area.

As the case unfolds, the community is left grappling with the impact of violence during what is typically a festive time of year, highlighting the need for ongoing dialogue about conflict resolution and safety resources.
