PITTSBURG, Kan. – A tragic incident unfolded in Pittsburg when a 29-year-old man lost his life in a fatal shooting inside his apartment on Wednesday night. The Pittsburg Police Department swiftly responded to the scene at 1116 S. Elm Street, Apartment C, following reports of the shooting.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim, identified as 29-year-old Fedor Lee Warren Lomax, who had sustained gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to save him, Lomax succumbed to his injuries after being rushed to Mercy Hospital.
Authorities quickly identified the suspect as 25-year-old Kevin J. Hukill, launching a search for him in the area. Hukill was eventually located at his residence on East Park Street after a thorough search and was taken into custody without incident.
Hukill faces a slew of charges including second-degree murder, interference with law enforcement, possession of a firearm by a felon, and a previous drug charge. He is currently held without bond at the Crawford County Jail, as the investigation into the tragic incident continues.
