MIDTOWN EAST, N.Y. — Authorities are searching for two suspects in connection with a violent robbery that occurred last month in a subway station in Manhattan. The incident has raised concerns about safety among commuters in the bustling transit system.
The New York Police Department reported that the attack took place on July 8 around 3:40 p.m. at the Lexington Avenue-59th Street station on the northbound R train platform. According to police, the 21-year-old victim was approached from behind by both assailants, who pushed him to the ground. They proceeded to kick and punch him while forcibly snatching his iPhone 16.
After the robbery, the suspects fled the scene. The victim was transported to New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, where he is currently listed in stable condition. No arrests have been made as the investigation continues.
