San Antonio, Texas – The San Antonio Police Department has launched an investigation into a tragic shooting incident that occurred at a residence near Dignowty Hill on Thanksgiving morning. Chief Bill McManus revealed that the incident resulted in four individuals being shot, with two fatalities and two others in critical condition.
During a press conference on Thursday, November 28, Chief McManus disclosed that the shooter, a male in his twenties, has been taken into custody. Limited details are currently available regarding the circumstances surrounding the shooting; however, McManus confirmed that all individuals involved were acquainted with one another. It remains unclear if the perpetrator is among those injured.
The group had been spending the night at a residence near St. James Street and Potomac Street when the shooting occurred. Chief McManus stated that the violence erupted as one individual attempted to depart the premises in the morning. Although the exact time of the shooting was not provided by authorities, it was determined that a handgun was used in the incident.
“We are still in the process of determining a motive for the shooting or the nature of their activities, but tragically, we have four individuals who have been shot, resulting in two fatalities,” McManus remarked. While police were unable to confirm whether the individuals were related, Chief McManus emphasized that they were familiar with each other.
When questioned about the potential influence of holiday tensions on the shooting, Chief McManus declined to speculate on the matter. He did, however, acknowledge that such incidents tend to occur with alarming frequency during Thanksgiving.
