PHOENIX — A confrontation over a bathroom line at a local gas station led to a tragic shooting that claimed the life of 52-year-old Danny Kaster. The incident occurred early in the morning on January 16 at a QuikTrip located near 44th Street and Oak Street. Police reports indicate that Deondre Franklin, 25, was arrested in connection with the shooting.
Upon arriving at the scene shortly before 8 a.m., officers found Kaster on the floor just outside the men’s restroom. He was transported to a nearby hospital but succumbed to his injuries shortly after arriving. Initial findings revealed that he suffered multiple gunshot wounds, primarily to his face, shoulder, and leg.
Witnesses detailed the events leading up to the altercation. According to one account, Kaster had been waiting in line for a restroom stall when Franklin attempted to bypass him.
