Shooting: Road Rage Escalates to Tragic Death of 47-Year-Old in Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY — A tragic road rage incident unfolded early Wednesday morning, resulting in the fatal shooting of 47-year-old Jeffrey Gill. The confrontation took place on a service road along Northwest Expressway near May Avenue, where tensions escalated between Gill and 24-year-old Darius Williams.

According to police, the altercation began around 2:30 a.m. as Gill was walking along the roadway. Williams allegedly approached him in a vehicle, and an argument ensued, reportedly triggered by Gill’s presence on the road. Witnesses indicate that the situation quickly escalated, leading Williams to shoot Gill multiple times.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after the incident and transported Gill to a local hospital. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries about an hour later, leaving the community in shock.

Following the shooting, Williams fled the scene but later returned in a different vehicle. Police reported that he confessed to officers that he had fired the shots that killed Gill. His willingness to admit the act led to his arrest shortly thereafter.
