NEWTON, Texas — A shooting early Sunday morning claimed the life of one individual and left three others injured in a popular area known as “The Hill.”

A woman from DeRidder was transported by ambulance to Jasper Memorial Hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival due to her injuries. Three other victims were also taken to the hospital for treatment, with one being airlifted to a medical facility in Houston for more extensive care.
