Suspect Arrested in Attack on US Nagar Forest Officials in Rudrapur

Rudrapur, a city in the state of Uttarakhand, made recent headlines as the main suspect in an attack on a forest department patrol team was apprehended in Gadarpur, Udham Singh Nagar. The suspect, identified as Swarn Singh, was part of a group of armed assailants who reportedly ambushed forest department officials in the Peepal Parao Forest. The attack resulted in injuries to forest ranger Roop Narayan Gautam and other personnel.

Following a complaint from Gautam, the Gadarpur police took swift action, registering a case under several sections of the law against multiple suspects, including Sangat Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Sarvjit Singh, Sandeep, and Kuldeep Singh. The Superintendent of Police, Manikant Mishra, directed the Special Operations Group (SOG) and local police to expedite the arrests of the suspects. Two individuals, Gurmeet Singh and Sarvjit Singh, were previously arrested in connection to the crime.

SSP Manikant Mishra affirmed that legal procedures were in progress and assured that the accused would be presented before the court for further action. The authorities are working diligently to ensure justice is served in the case, with efforts to bring all responsible parties to account for their actions. The attack on the forest department officials serves as a reminder of the dangers faced by those working to protect our natural resources, highlighting the importance of law enforcement in preserving environmental conservation efforts.
