New York City, New York – The New York Police Department (NYPD) has released images of the suspected gunman in connection with the fatal shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. The NYPD shared the photos on social media, appealing to the public for information regarding the individual believed to be involved in the killing of the 50-year-old CEO in Manhattan.
The release of these new photos comes four days after the tragic incident on December 4, where the suspect pointed a 9mm handgun at Thompson and fired at least three shots before fleeing on a bicycle into Central Park. Police have described the man as wearing a unique gray backpack during the shooting, with reports suggesting that authorities found the same backpack in Central Park, containing Monopoly money and a jacket.
The NYPD is actively investigating the case and has urged anyone with information to come forward. They have asked the public to contact NYPD Crime Stoppers or reach out via social media if they have any details that could aid in the investigation. A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction in this case.
NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch has stated that there is reason to believe the suspect has left the city. Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny mentioned that the suspect was last seen near 86th Street and Columbus Avenue, far from the crime scene, before being taken to a bus center on 178th Street and Broadway.
Evidence found at the scene, including shell casings with particular words on them, is being analyzed to piece together the events leading up to the shooting. The NYPD is working diligently to track the movements of the suspect, who is believed to have arrived in New York on a bus from Atlanta.
As investigations continue, the NYPD is seeking the public’s cooperation and assistance in bringing the individual responsible for Brian Thompson’s death to justice. Authorities are dedicated to solving this case and ensuring that the perpetrator is held accountable for their actions.
