ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA – Detectives in Arcadia are actively searching for a suspect involved in a fatal shooting that occurred inside or near a residence. The incident, which authorities suspect may be related to a possible home invasion, resulted in the tragic death of a man.
The Arcadia Police Department responded to a call on Woodlawn Lane, located in close proximity to Santa Anita Avenue and Foothills Middle School, around 6:26 p.m. on Tuesday. The victim was rushed to a hospital following the shooting and was later pronounced dead, as confirmed by homicide Lt. Steven De Jong from the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department.
As part of their investigation, detectives discovered a gun inside the residence, although it remains unclear whether this was the weapon used in the crime. LASD deputies combed through the neighborhood and surrounding hillside throughout the early hours of Wednesday in search of the suspect.
Collaborating with the Arcadia police, LASD will be assisting in the ongoing investigation into the tragic incident. Details surrounding the victim’s potential connection to the home where the shooting took place were not immediately disclosed.
