Burien, Washington – Two men in Washington state are facing severe charges of kidnapping, attempted murder, and robbery after allegedly abducting, torturing, and shooting a woman in a horrifying attack that spanned multiple counties. The King County Sheriff’s Office suspects that one of the perpetrators may have connections to Tren de Aragua, a notorious Venezuelan gang known for its violent activities and spreading influence in the United States.
Kevin Daniel Sanabria Ojeda, 24, and Alexander Moises Arnaez-Gutierrez, 25, stand accused of violently kidnapping a 58-year-old woman outside her Burien apartment on January 21. The suspects reportedly used a power drill on the victim’s hand in an attempt to access her phone and bank accounts while threatening her life and the lives of her family.
Following the abduction, the suspects drove the woman towards the Cascade Mountains, where they shot her and left her for dead along a remote stretch of Interstate 90 in Kittitas County. Fortunately, the woman survived the ordeal by pretending to be deceased and seeking help after the attackers fled the scene.
The victim, after receiving medical attention at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, provided authorities with a detailed recollection of the events. A joint investigation by the KCSO and FBI led to the arrest of Sanabria in Illinois and Arnaez-Gutierrez during a traffic stop by Mercer Island police.
Despite Sanabria’s admission of involvement in the crime, both suspects maintain their innocence in court and are currently held on $1 million bail each for posing a significant threat to public safety. While Arnaez-Gutierrez is scheduled for arraignment on April 24, a third suspect known only as “Daniel” remains under investigation in connection to the case.
Law enforcement officials continue to probe the organized nature and gruesome violence of the incident, pointing to potential links to larger criminal networks and emphasizing the need for heightened vigilance against such threats to public safety.
