Arrest Made in Haymarket Home Altercation with Knife and Gun Threats

Manassas, Virginia – Jasmine Denisha Garcia, a 36-year-old resident of Manassas, was recently arrested as the second person involved in a tumultuous incident that occurred in a Haymarket home. The confrontation escalated quickly, with reports of a man being threatened with a knife to his neck and a gun held to his head. The Prince William County Police Department responded to a call around 12:45 a.m. on Feb. 12 at the 4300 block of Sudley Road where the altercation took place.

According to authorities, a 31-year-old woman was assaulted during the altercation, and a 25-year-old man had a knife pressed against his neck before a firearm was brandished and aimed at his head. The victims managed to escape to a neighbor’s home to seek help and contact the police after the fight was quelled.

Following the initial investigation, Anthony Aguirre was apprehended inside the residence, discovered with a gun and ammunition in his possession. Arrest warrants were subsequently issued for Garcia and 33-year-old Eric Yovany Melara, also a Manassas resident, who was allegedly involved in the incident and remains at-large. Garcia was taken into custody over the weekend and faces charges of assault by mob, as well as assault and battery. Melara is still being pursued as of Wednesday, March 13.
