SAN ANGELO, Texas – Authorities in San Angelo have apprehended Michael Walkner, a 64-year-old resident of the city, on charges of robbery. The arrest stemmed from an incident in which Walkner allegedly attacked a woman and stole her cellphone.
Court documents revealed that on the first of May in 2024, officers began an investigation after the victim reported the incident. The victim, who was located at a residence on Adrian Street, recounted how Walkner entered the premises and confronted her regarding a work-related matter. The situation escalated when Walkner physically assaulted the victim, prompting her to seek refuge in the bathroom.
In a troubling turn of events, Walkner proceeded to break down the bathroom door, continuing the assault before forcibly taking the victim’s cellphone and fleeing the scene. Law enforcement was able to track down Walkner and recover the stolen property at a separate location on Catalina Drive.
Following his arrest, Walkner was taken to the Tom Green County Jail on the same day of the incident and is currently being held on a $100,000 bond.
