Fort Worth, Texas – Chris Brown and his entourage are facing a $50 million lawsuit for allegedly assaulting four concertgoers after a performance in Fort Worth, Texas. The lawsuit, filed on Sunday, July 21, accuses Brown, his entourage, and the tour promoter Live Nation of orchestrating a “brutal, violent assault” backstage at Dickies Arena.
The lawsuit claims that Brown, along with his associates Conway, Hood Boss, and Sinko Ceej, violently beat four men – Larry Parker, Joseph Lewis, Charles Bush, and Damarcus Powell – in an unprovoked attack following the concert. The complaint also alleges that Live Nation continued to work with Brown despite knowing his history of “bad conduct and violent behavior” for financial gain.
Attorney for the plaintiffs, Tony Buzbee, stated, “This is Texas. The people here don’t care how important or famous you think you are, you have an obligation to follow the laws and conduct yourself in an appropriate way. Unprovoked violence can’t and won’t be tolerated. We intend to seek all damages that the law allows against Brown and his cohorts, to include punitive damages.”
According to the lawsuit, the victims were invited into the VIP area at the concert where an altercation ensued after a member of Brown’s crew accused one of the men of past disputes with the artist. The situation escalated, leading to a physical attack in which the plaintiffs were severely injured and required medical treatment.
The plaintiffs are seeking compensatory and punitive damages in excess of $50 million for injuries sustained during the alleged assault. The lawsuit also references Brown’s previous legal troubles, including his 2009 assault of Rihanna, for which he accepted a plea deal involving community labor and probation.
Representatives for Brown, Live Nation, and the other defendants have yet to respond to the allegations. The lawsuit highlights the serious nature of the incident and emphasizes the need for accountability in cases of unprovoked violence.
