Assault: Court Documents Unveil Shocking Details of Violent Attack at Glendale Skating Rink

GLENDALE, Ariz. — A violent confrontation at a popular West Valley skating rink last month has led to serious charges against a 25-year-old woman. Justic Keemora Cofield faces multiple counts, including aggravated assault, destruction of public property, and resisting arrest following the incident at Great Skate on January 25.

Court documents indicate that surveillance footage captured the attack, which began when Cofield approached a female victim who was sitting alone. The video shows Cofield, armed with two roller skates, hitting the woman on the side of the head before continuing to assault her. The victim fell to the ground, where Cofield allegedly grabbed her hair and continued to hit her repeatedly.

Witnesses reported a chaotic scene as the attack unfolded. Even after a third person attempted to intervene, Cofield persisted in her aggression until security staff stepped in to separate the two. Authorities later revealed that the victim suffered significant injuries, including a concussion, bruising, and damage to her teeth.

Investigators also discovered messages on Instagram where Cofield purportedly admitted to the assault, referencing the use of roller skates as weapons. In those messages, she expressed an intention to use the altercation as a means of sending a message to someone they both knew. Cofield made troubling remarks about using a firearm as well.

Authorities arrested Cofield after she tried to flee when officers called her name. Initially denying her identity, she later acknowledged knowing about outstanding warrants. During her detention, she displayed erratic behavior, damaging furniture within the interview room by throwing a chair at the door and resisting officers when they attempted to restrain her.

Cofield’s previous run-ins with the law include charges for driving under the influence and various court order violations. She was taken into custody at the Glendale City Jail before being transferred to the Maricopa County jail, where she is currently held on a $151,000 bond.

The community is left to grapple with the implications of such violence occurring in a family-oriented environment. As details emerge from the case, local residents express concerns about safety at public venues like skating rinks, prompting discussions about security measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Cofield’s actions and the injuries inflicted on her victim have sparked outrage and calls for accountability. The investigation continues as the judicial process unfolds, with the next steps in the case expected to draw attention from both community members and legal experts alike.
