Assaulted Victim’s Car Stolen Near Spokane Airport as Suspects Remain At Large

Spokane, Washington – Authorities in Spokane County are investigating a violent assault that occurred near the Spokane International Airport, leading to the theft of a man’s car. The incident, which took place near West 50th Avenue and South Grove Road, was reported to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) by the victim himself.

According to SCSO, the victim, who had limited English proficiency, informed a deputy that his car had been stolen after he was attacked. The victim recounted stopping at a gas station near South Hayford Road and US 2, where he was approached by an individual requesting a ride. Agreeing to the request, the victim drove the suspect to the 6000 block of West 50th Avenue, where the situation took a violent turn.

Upon arrival at the designated location, the suspect asked the victim to exit the vehicle. Following the victim’s compliance, the suspect brandished a firearm and began a brutal assault. The situation escalated when another individual arrived in a different vehicle and joined in the assault, resulting in the victim sustaining a severe injury, including a smashed or severed finger while attempting to prevent the theft of his car.

Despite efforts to locate the victim’s stolen green 1999 Ford Mustang and the suspect’s potential white Subaru, the search proved unsuccessful.
