Attack at Barraco’s Restaurant Leaves Owner Hospitalized: 4 Men Arrested

Chicago, Illinois – A violent attack at Barraco’s restaurant over the weekend left 61-year-old Nick Barraco hospitalized with a fractured skull and a brain bleed. Four suspects were arrested in connection with the attack, as shown in new video footage released Tuesday night.

The suspects, identified as Andrew Fedyk, Harry Kenny, Frank Paris, and John Powers, all aged 20 and from separate western suburbs, now face multiple counts of aggravated battery. The incident unfolded when the men were asked to leave the restaurant for inappropriate behavior, leading to a physical altercation with employees and Barraco.

Prosecutors revealed that the defendants became aggressive after being removed from the establishment, escalating into a violent confrontation in the early hours of the morning. Despite claims from the defense suggesting a different narrative, the judge highlighted the incident’s link to alcohol consumption.

Alderman Matt O’Shea, a longtime friend of Barraco, shared that the victim is now conscious and out of the ICU. The local community has rallied around Barraco, described as a pillar in the neighborhood for many years. Messages of support have flooded the area, condemning the attack on a beloved community figure.

While the suspects have been released pending further court appearances, the incident has sparked discussions about safety and community well-being. The judge reassured the public that the suspects do not pose a current threat, emphasizing the need for vigilance in addressing alcohol-related confrontations to prevent future harm.
