HIGH WYCOMBE, England – In a horrifying incident that shook the town of High Wycombe, a violent attacker inflicted life-changing injuries on a man during a four-hour assault on December 13, 2023. Wayne Palmer, 22, was responsible for the brutal attack that took place on Priory Road, as revealed in Aylesbury Crown Court.
During the ordeal, Palmer confronted a man in his thirties, alleging that the man owed him money for drugs. The victim was then forcibly taken to an address on the same road, where he was subjected to relentless demands for money. Alongside an accomplice, Palmer ruthlessly attacked the victim for hours, resulting in grave injuries that will have lasting effects.
Following his arrest on January 2, 2024, Palmer was swiftly charged the next day. Subsequently, he confessed to charges of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent, attempted robbery, false imprisonment, and involvement in the supply of Class A drugs, specifically crack cocaine and heroin. Upon appearing in court on March 19, Palmer was sentenced to a term of seven years and six months in prison.
Detective Constable Emily Sendall, the investigating officer, expressed the hope that Palmer’s significant sentence would send a strong message that Thames Valley Police condemns such acts of violence and drug-related crimes. She commended the victim for his courage in coming forward and continuously supporting the investigation.
