Attack near Patrick F. Healy Middle School in East Orange Leaves Two Girls Injured and Spurs Investigation by School Officials and Police

East Orange, NJ – An investigation is underway in East Orange after a violent attack near Patrick F. Healy Middle School left two girls injured on Wednesday afternoon. School officials and local police are currently looking into the incident that occurred in the 90’s block of Hamilton Street, following school dismissal.

According to reports from the girls’ parents, the two students were walking on Park Avenue when they were approached by a group of over a half dozen teenagers who initiated the attack. Witnesses stated that the assailants forced the girls to the ground, physically assaulted them by punching and kicking, and even stole items from them before fleeing the scene.

Both victims were taken to Carewell Health Medical Center (East Orange General) for treatment. Medical personnel attended to their injuries, with one victim being treated and released, while the other remained hospitalized for further observation. Despite the severity of the attack, both girls are expected to make a full recovery.

The incident, partially captured on neighborhood surveillance video, is currently under investigation by authorities to bring those responsible to justice.
