Attack on Woman Walking Home After Buying Flowers in San Fernando Spurs Police Search

SAN FERNANDO, CALIFORNIA – A woman was violently attacked and robbed of her purse as she made her way home in San Fernando this week after purchasing flowers for her mother. The unsettling incident took place on Monday afternoon on Park Avenue, reported Lt. Walter Dominguez of the San Fernando Police Department.

The victim, Juliana Murillo, recounted being ambushed by a man upon her return home from buying flowers for her mother’s birthday. Murillo described being forcefully pushed to the ground, resulting in a fall that caused her to hit her head.

Surveillance cameras in the vicinity captured the assault, revealing Murillo’s struggle to retain possession of her purse as the assailant made his getaway in a dark-colored vehicle. Despite her efforts to resist, the man successfully made off with her belongings, leaving Murillo in a state of shock and disbelief.

Law enforcement officials have since encouraged the general public to remain vigilant of their surroundings, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing personal safety and well-being over material possessions. Lt. Dominguez advised individuals to relinquish any property if confronted with a similar threatening situation, underscoring the irreplaceable value of human life.

As part of their ongoing investigation, authorities have deployed a Flock Camera license plate recognition system to aid in identifying the suspect and tracking down the vehicle used in the crime. This technology allows for the collection of vehicle data that can be cross-referenced by law enforcement to pinpoint potential leads in criminal cases.

Individuals with any pertinent information regarding the incident are urged to contact the San Fernando Police Detective Bureau at 818-898-1261. The police department remains committed to utilizing all available resources to apprehend the perpetrator and bring him to justice.
