Jermaine Long is suspected of first assaulting an individual with a sledgehammer before later slashing a teenager’s throat.
Police responded to multiple calls involving Long on the same day, only four days after he was released from custody. Records indicate his first reported attack took place at a 7-Eleven on Atlantic Avenue, where he is accused of confronting a man resting outside the store. After the man denied any issues with Long, the suspect allegedly struck him in the head with the sledgehammer and pursued him into the store.
