Brandon Patrick, 31, faces charges including domestic abuse battery resulting in serious bodily harm and false imprisonment following an incident that unfolded late last month. Deputies in Tangipahoa Parish allege that a domestic dispute between Patrick and a woman he lived with escalated into shocking violence at their residence in Ponchatoula, a small community roughly 50 miles northwest of New Orleans.
Officials say the trouble began over a weekend, culminating on the night of Jan. 27, when the victim was allegedly attacked during an attempt to escape captivity. The encounter left her with extensive injuries after part of her face was bitten off, according to a statement from the sheriff’s office. Medical personnel immediately hospitalized the woman, where she underwent treatment for her wounds and later recuperated in a secure location following her release.
Investigators believe the victim had been held against her will for several days before she was finally able to break free. After managing to alert authorities, a search began for Patrick, who reportedly fled shortly after the incident. Law enforcement described the suspect as dangerous and issued public alerts, cautioning residents and requesting assistance in tracking him down.
