Dallas, Texas – A bride-to-be’s bachelorette trip with lifelong friends took a terrifying turn outside a bar just one month before her planned wedding.
Canada Rinaldi, 27, and her group of six friends from Oklahoma were in Dallas when the attack occurred. Leaving a nightclub around 2 a.m. on March 22, Rinaldi was assaulted, resulting in a broken nose, several broken teeth, eight stitches to her face, and a concussion.
The incident was captured on the dash camera of a rideshare driver, showing Rinaldi on the ground and the perpetrator fleeing the scene. Trevon Woodards, a 27-year-old man, was arrested in connection with the attack. Woodards, who has a history of prior charges including assault on a police officer, misdemeanor assault, and burglary, was recently granted parole.
According to Rinaldi’s sister, Brienna Rinaldi, no altercation preceded the unprovoked assault. The Dallas Police Department responded to the incident, confirming that two victims were assaulted and Dallas Fire-Rescue also provided assistance at the scene.
In addition to Rinaldi’s injuries, her fiance’s aunt was also harmed in the attack. The bride-to-be was left with a black eye, in addition to her other injuries from the assault.
The unexpected attack served as a grim reminder of the dangers that can arise in seemingly ordinary situations. As Rinaldi continues to recover from her injuries, the incident has sparked conversations about safety and security, particularly for women out enjoying celebrations with their friends.
While Woodards faces legal consequences for his actions, Rinaldi’s friends and family stand by her side, offering support and solidarity as she navigates the aftermath of the traumatic experience. The disturbing assault has highlighted the importance of vigilance and protection in social settings, prompting renewed discussions about personal safety measures for individuals across various communities.
