Charged 20-year-old Men Face Judge After Alleged Assault at Mount Greenwood Restaurant

Chicago, Illinois – Four young men, aged 20, appeared before a judge in connection with an alleged assault and brawl at a Mount Greenwood restaurant. The incident took place in the early hours of Sunday at Barraco’s Ristorante in the Mount Greenwood neighborhood.

Andrew Fedyk, Harry Kenny, Frank Paris, and John Powers IV, all 20 years old, face charges including aggravated battery in a public place, aggravated battery causing great bodily harm, and aggravated battery against a victim over 60. Additional charges were added to each of the defendants.

The prosecution stated that there were four victims involved, including an off-duty police officer and the restaurant owner, who sustained serious injuries requiring hospitalization. Despite the severity of the incident, the judge granted pretrial release for all four suspects.

According to prosecutors, the altercation began when the men were asked to leave the bar due to their alleged drunken behavior, which led to a confrontation outside with multiple victims. Paris was accused of throwing the punch that caused the owner of the restaurant to fall and sustain a serious head injury.

Defense attorneys argued a different narrative, presenting a video suggesting that the bouncers were the aggressors in the situation. The judge acknowledged the video’s potential to contradict witness statements, but ultimately found enough evidence to support the prosecution’s case against Paris for battery causing great bodily harm.

Alderman Matt O’Shea, a friend of the restaurant owner, expressed concern for the victims and emphasized the community’s support for the injured party. The defendants are scheduled to appear in court again on July 1.

The incident serves as a reminder of the consequences of alcohol-fueled altercations and the importance of resolving conflicts peacefully. With ongoing legal proceedings, the focus remains on justice for the victims and ensuring accountability for the accused individuals.
