According to reports, the 41-year-old woman, identified only as Nina, and her husband were surrounded by a group of at least 10 youths who claimed ownership of the street. Nina described being pepper-sprayed, kicked in the stomach, and having a clump of hair ripped out during the assault, while her husband was restrained by the mob.
Law enforcement responded to the scene and apprehended a 14-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl in connection with the attack. Both individuals were charged with misdemeanor battery and later released pending court appearances. Authorities have not disclosed the identities of the suspects.
Nina, who was two weeks pregnant at the time of the assault, tragically lost her baby following the attack. Reflecting on the incident, she expressed disbelief and sorrow, stating, “We believe in faith, and it wasn’t meant to be. So, we don’t know why this happened to us.”
