CHICAGO, ILLINOIS – A spate of shootings over the weekend in Chicago left at least 29 people injured and one person dead, according to the Chicago Police Department.
One of the incidents involved a 44-year-old man who was shot and killed during an argument in the Austin neighborhood. The man was holding a gun when he was shot in the left eye and was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at Stroger Hospital. Two others were also injured during the altercation.

These included a 12-year-old boy who was shot while riding his bicycle, a 9-year-old girl accidentally shot by a family member, and six people wounded in a mass shooting in East Garfield Park.
