Clifton Woman “Terrorised” and Assaulted by Man in Violent Home Invasion

Nottingham, England – A Nottingham woman endured a terrifying ordeal when a man broke into her home and launched a violent attack on her. Lynden Brown, a resident of Fleming Gardens in Clifton, forcibly entered the woman’s residence on December 23, 2023, defying a pre-existing restraining order barring him from approaching her.

Brown, who had threatened the victim the night before, lay in wait for her inside the house. Upon her return, he viciously assaulted her before proceeding to vandalize her car. Despite fleeing initially, Brown returned to the scene and forcibly re-entered the property, instigating a harrowing confrontation.

Captured by a doorbell camera, much of the incident led to Brown pleading guilty to multiple charges, including breaching the restraining order, causing actual bodily harm through assault, and committing three counts of criminal damage. Appearing before Nottingham Crown Court on Wednesday, July 17, Brown received a three-year prison sentence, accompanied by an extension of his restraining order.

Detective Constable Ioana Parr, a dedicated domestic abuse specialist at Nottinghamshire Police, condemned the abhorrent violence perpetrated by Brown against the victim. Parr emphasized the relentless commitment of law enforcement to holding offenders accountable and ensuring the safety of victims, stressing the severity of violence against women.

Expressing relief at Brown’s conviction, Parr highlighted the significance of rendering justice and preventing further harm to the victim. The sentencing marked a crucial step in addressing the traumatic experience inflicted upon the woman in her own home, underscoring the imperative of prosecuting offenders and upholding the rights of survivors.
