Construction Workers Heroically Rescue Woman from Naked Attacker

Los Angeles, California – A heroic group of construction workers in Sawtelle rushed to the aid of a 63-year-old woman who was violently assaulted on Friday. Rick Dreyfus, a general contractor, and his crew were working on a construction site near the 10 Freeway when they heard the woman’s cries for help. Without hesitation, they intervened to stop the attack and assist the police in detaining the suspect.

According to Dreyfus, upon arriving at the scene, they witnessed a naked man attempting to rape the woman by pinning her to the ground. The workers’ quick thinking scared the assailant away, allowing the woman to escape further harm. This act of bravery demonstrated the importance of bystander intervention in potentially dangerous situations.

The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) swiftly responded to the emergency call and apprehended the suspect, identified as 33-year-old Ishmail Bangura. Authorities later revealed that prior to the assault, Bangura had assaulted a 3-year-old child and had threatened to rape and kill the woman after breaking into her apartment.

The courageous actions of the construction workers not only prevented further harm to the victim but also highlighted the importance of community members looking out for one another in times of crisis. Dreyfus emphasized the shock and urgency he felt upon realizing the severity of the situation, underscoring the necessity of swift and decisive action in such circumstances.

In a time where instances of violence against women are all too common, the selfless intervention of the construction workers serves as a reminder of the power individuals have to make a difference in the lives of others. The collaboration between citizens and law enforcement in Sawtelle exemplifies the strength of community unity and solidarity in the face of danger.
