Crow Chaos: Terrifying Attacks Strike Upmarket Dulwich Neighborhood

Dulwich, a prestigious neighborhood in South East London, is currently in a state of unease as residents face a series of aggressive crow attacks. These attacks have resulted in a schoolgirl being injured and a mother with a stroller fleeing from a menacing crow. In a disturbing video, a cyclist is seen being pursued by two crows, one of which swoops down towards him, causing him to scream in terror.

The alarming incidents have been ongoing, with nearly ten attacks reported since last year. Interestingly, bald men seem to be the primary targets of these aggressive crows. As a precaution, locals are being advised to carry umbrellas for protection, while some individuals have resorted to wearing bike helmets to safeguard themselves from the aggressive birds.

Dulwich, known for its affluent status and renowned residents such as Hollywood star Tom Cruise and former BBC newsreader Huw Edwards, has now gained notoriety for the unwelcome encounters with these territorial crows along Townley Road. The nesting season for crows, typically in spring and early summer, leads to heightened aggression as parent crows defend their offspring from perceived threats, even recognizing specific human faces and selecting targets.

Bridget Furst, chair of the Dulwich Residents’ Association, recently visited Townley Road after hearing about the escalating attacks and witnessed firsthand the distress caused by the crows. According to Furst, these aggressive crows have instilled fear in the community over the past two years, with incidents ranging from residents being pecked on the head to children on scooters being dive-bombed. The severity of the attacks has led some residents, such as Alison Frean, to express concern over the limited measures available to counter the crows’ aggressive behavior.

Despite the challenges posed by these territorial creatures, Dulwich residents remain resilient in the face of ongoing crow attacks. The community’s perseverance in dealing with this unique challenge highlights the need for creative solutions to peacefully coexist with local wildlife. As the neighborhood grapples with the reign of these aggressive crows, residents are urged to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to avoid confrontations with these feathery adversaries.
