Dog Attack at Elmira Elementary School Prompts Calls for Owner Accountability

ELMIRA, Ore. – Concerned families in Elmira are seeking accountability from a dog owner whose pet has been involved in multiple attacks on Elmira Elementary School grounds. Eighth-grader Khloe Bartram is the most recent victim of an attack, sustaining injuries that required her to have five stitches on her face and a staple in her head.

According to Bartram, she and her friend were walking from the high school to the middle school on February 13 when they cut through the elementary school grass and encountered the dog that attacked her. The owner of the dog apologized, put a muzzle on the dog, and then left the scene, leaving the family to deal with the aftermath of the attack.

The Bartram family has reported the incident to the authorities, hoping to prevent similar incidents in the future. This is not the first time the dog has attacked someone on school grounds, as another parent revealed that her daughter was also a victim of an attack by the same dog just three months ago.

Despite the school district’s regulations prohibiting dogs on school grounds, parents claim that the owner continues to bring dogs around the area, posing a potential danger to students and other individuals. Due to the severity of the attacks, parents are calling for increased accountability on the part of the owner and are urging for measures to prevent such incidents from happening again.

In response to the attacks, the Bartram family has taken necessary legal actions, filing a police report and advocating for stricter enforcement of the school’s no-dog policy to avoid any future harm to students. Additionally, they emphasize the importance of responsible pet ownership and ensuring that potentially dangerous dogs are kept away from public places such as schools to ensure the safety of the community.

The incident has sparked conversations about the responsibility of dog owners in ensuring the safety of public spaces and has prompted a call for more proactive measures to prevent similar attacks in the future. As the community seeks justice and safety for its residents, the incident serves as a reminder of the importance of responsible pet ownership and the need for effective enforcement of regulations to prevent such incidents.
