Drunk Wisconsin man repeatedly stabs his fiancee and claims it is because she did him wrong

WEST BEND, WI – A tranquil Saturday night in this Milwaukee suburb erupted into violence after police say a West Bend man stabbed his fiancée multiple times before showering, hiding her wounds beneath blood-soaked blankets, and finally calling 911 in a fit of guilt.

Authorities arrested Kevin Fischer, who now faces a charge of first-degree attempted intentional homicide with a dangerous weapon following the harrowing ordeal that unfolded over the weekend. The incident has left the community shaken and searching for answers.

According to investigators, the chain of events began Saturday at noon, when Fischer started drinking in the couple’s apartment. The couple’s evening appeared routine: the fiancée went out to collect food for dinner, and Fischer’s sister later joined them for a night of board games. Throughout the night, Fischer allegedly continued to consume alcohol while his fiancée abstained.

As midnight approached, Fischer’s sister left the apartment. The fiancée, feeling tired, announced her intention to go to bed. What happened next, authorities say, was as sudden as it was shocking: Fischer allegedly threatened to kill her, then launched a violent attack with a knife.

Court documents reveal the fiancée was blindsided by Fischer’s rage, unable to understand what triggered the savage assault. Bloodied and gravely wounded, she lay helpless as Fischer reportedly showered and draped blankets over her injuries instead of seeking help right away.

The chilling aftermath continued into the early hours of Sunday. At 3:20 a.m., Fischer dialed 911, admitting to the dispatcher that he’d stabbed his fiancée after an argument. He tearfully pleaded for help, stating that she was bleeding heavily and that he didn’t want her to die. In the background, the woman’s cries of pain added to the urgency on the line.

When officers arrived, Fischer let them into the apartment. He reeked of alcohol, his speech slurred, and broke down sobbing in front of police, according to the arrest report. Officers discovered the fiancée in the back bedroom, her lower body swaddled in blood-soaked blankets. A bloodied knife was found resting on the bed.

Paramedics rushed the victim to a nearby hospital, where physicians found devastating injuries — multiple deep cuts to her hip and thigh, along with an expansive slash to her abdomen. The wound was so severe that portions of her intestines protruded from her body, and surgeons were forced to remove part of her intestines during emergency surgery. Her current condition has not been disclosed.

In his exchanges with police, Fischer reportedly vacillated between expressions of love and resentment, stating he “loved her and hated her” and confessing that he wasn’t thinking clearly during the attack. He also admitted to covering his fiancée’s wounds with blankets and taking a shower before summoning help.

Fischer appeared in court on Monday for an initial hearing. He remains in custody as he awaits a preliminary hearing scheduled for April 2. If convicted, he could face up to 60 years in prison.

The attack has rattled the quiet community, as neighbors and officials alike grapple with the senselessness of the violence that upended two lives in a matter of hours.
