Wildwood, Florida – A shocking incident unfolded when a 16-year-old Florida teen allegedly stabbed a 15-year-old boy to death and injured an adult during a sleepover in Wildwood, Florida. Alexander Warren Hernandez faces serious charges including premeditated first-degree murder in the death of Connor Michael Gill, along with charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and armed burglary.
The tragic event occurred around 10pm on Saturday, June 1, when Hernandez reportedly arrived unannounced at a sleepover that Gill was hosting and forced his way into the residence. Sumter County Sheriff’s Office revealed that Hernandez then proceeded to stab Gill and threatened another victim. The adult victim who intervened was also stabbed by the suspect.
Both stabbing victims received immediate treatment at the scene before being airlifted to nearby hospitals. Tragically, Gill succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead around 1:19am. Authorities disclosed that Hernandez, who had withdrawn from Sumter County Schools and was being home-schooled, tried to flee but was apprehended later that evening.
During a video shared on the Sheriff’s Facebook page, Undersheriff Pat Breeden unveiled the alleged murder weapons, a pocketknife, and a handheld scythe, still in Hernandez’s possession at the time of his arrest. Breeden described the attack as premeditated, with Hernandez admitting to ordering the weapons online and walking a considerable distance to carry out the assault.
While the motive behind the brutal attack remains unclear, Breeden hinted at the possibility of additional charges. He emphasized the violent and premeditated nature of the incident, leaving the community in shock and seeking answers. As the investigation continues, authorities are working to uncover the full extent of the tragedy and bring justice to the victims and their families.
