Houston woman stabs woman in the head outside Miami 7-Eleven then brags about it on Instagram live

MIAMI, FL – Authorities have arrested a Houston woman accused of stabbing a former friend outside a Miami convenience store last month, after the two agreed to meet for a physical confrontation, according to police records.

Shakia Jenkins, 29, faces an attempted first-degree murder charge after allegedly attacking another woman in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven in Liberty City on July 15. Investigators said the altercation stemmed from a dispute at an upscale local hookah lounge earlier in the evening.

The two women, whose prior friendship had ended earlier this year following a separate argument, coordinated plans via social media to confront each other in Miami, police said. When they arrived at the convenience store, both exited their vehicles and began to fight. During the tussle, Jenkins allegedly produced a small black knife and stabbed the other woman in the face, according to the arrest report.

Witnesses reported hearing the victim shout that she was being stabbed. The woman, who was not identified in police documents, survived the attack.

Investigators point to Jenkins’ own social media activity immediately after the incident, including several live videos and post-incident comments. In these clips, Jenkins reportedly boasted about the attack, making references to horror characters and describing specific details of the assault. She also expressed no remorse, stating that she would commit the act again, according to the criminal complaint.

Detectives said statements made in these videos and posts matched the details of the stabbing described by the victim and witnesses. The evidence included admissions from Jenkins about where she had intended to inflict injuries and remarks implying she wished she had inflicted more harm.

Authorities report the women became friends in 2023 after connecting online, but fell out in early 2024 following an argument at a Valentine’s Day party. Relations further soured in the months leading up to the violent incident.

Jenkins’ criminal record includes previous convictions in Texas for fraud and in Florida for grand theft. Following her arrest for the July stabbing, she was ordered held in Miami without bond.

The severity of the charges and the social media evidence played a significant role in the decision to deny bond. No information was released regarding the current condition of the victim, but records confirm she survived the attack.

The case remains under investigation as prosecutors weigh additional evidence gathered from online posts and statements. Jenkins has yet to enter a plea.
