BEACON, N.Y. — Local law enforcement is urging residents to review their security camera footage in connection with a violent attack on a woman that occurred on January 14 near Tioronda Avenue.
Authorities are searching for a suspect described as a white male in his 30s to 40s, approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall, with a medium build and a very close-cropped brown beard. He was last seen wearing a black coat—not a puffer jacket—and a black knit hat, along with blue pants or jeans.
Beacon City Police Chief Thomas Figlia called for assistance from the community. “If you have any video footage that might show a person matching this description, please reach out to us,” he said. Residents are encouraged to contact the Beacon City Police Department at 845-831-4111.
The chief emphasized the delicacy of the ongoing investigation, noting the importance of handling sensitive cases with care. He advised that there are times when it may not be appropriate to seek a full statement from a victim immediately after an incident. “Releasing information prematurely could hinder our efforts,” Figlia added.
The police department is currently dedicating all necessary resources to this investigation and is collaborating with other agencies to ensure a comprehensive approach. Authorities are committed to keeping the community informed while prioritizing the safety and support of the victim.
Residents with any relevant information are strongly encouraged to come forward. Contributions from the community could prove pivotal in resolving this case and enhancing public safety in the area.
