PERRY, IA – A 75-year-old Iowa man is facing charges after allegedly admitting to the murder of his wife in an attempt to end her ongoing medical struggles.
On the evening of March 16, Richard Hoesing reportedly contacted 911 to confess to the killing of his 74-year-old wife, Jean Hoesing. Local police were dispatched to their Perry residence, where they encountered Richard and discovered Jean in the bedroom with a significant throat wound, according to the criminal complaint.
During his 911 call, Richard allegedly revealed his motivation for the tragic act. He reportedly described Jean’s long battle with bipolar disorder and multiple sclerosis, stating that her ongoing suffering had become unbearable.
