SAN ANTONIO – A grieving mother is pleading for clarity as she navigates the aftermath of her daughter’s tragic death, a month after the shooting incident that claimed the life of 25-year-old Zierra Dawn Torres. The young woman suffered multiple fatal gunshot wounds in a dispute that has left her family and community searching for answers.
On December 10, Torres was fatally shot at an apartment complex situated off Northeast Loop 410 near Perrin Beitel Road. Following the incident, police detained several individuals for questioning, but no arrests have been reported since. Lesa Grimmitt, Torres’ mother, expressed her frustration with the lack of communication and updates from law enforcement.
“This is my only daughter. I’ve prayed and hoped for her future,” said Grimmitt. “Not having answers is completely unacceptable.”
Reports indicate that the shooting occurred during an argument between Torres and a man who is 28 years old. Both were allegedly in possession of firearms when the confrontation escalated.
