BRISBANE, Australia – Queensland Police are investigating a terrifying incident where a 43-year-old woman was kidnapped, assaulted, and taken to a property in Forest Lake, Brisbane. The victim was then reportedly shot at while inside a vehicle. However, authorities have assured the public that there is no wider threat to the community, and that there is no current indication that the incident was gang-related.
According to Queensland Police Acting Inspector Michael Hogan, the woman was taken from a home in Doolandella by a group of men. As the investigation unfolds, it was revealed that a member of the public provided crucial information that led to the arrest of four men in connection with the incident. Two of the men have since been charged with multiple serious offenses, including kidnapping, extortion, and armed robbery.
The victim is said to have suffered non-life threatening injuries during the ordeal and has since been released from the hospital. Acting Inspector Hogan emphasized the traumatic impact of the events on the victim, noting that she has been significantly shaken by the experience.
As the investigation remains open, police are urging anyone with information or footage from the area to come forward. Crime scenes have been established at three properties, and a vehicle has been taken for forensic examination. Additionally, authorities have called on two more individuals to come forward for questioning about their alleged involvement in the incident.
