Killer at Large: Woman Found Shot to Death in Compton Car

COMPTON, CALIFORNIA – Authorities are currently on the lookout for the perpetrator responsible for the tragic death of a woman who was discovered fatally shot inside a car in Compton on Monday night.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Raquel Utley disclosed that deputies were summoned to the scene on South Holly Ave. at 10:57 p.m. following reports of a woman shot in a parked vehicle in the residential area.

Upon arrival, officials found the woman unresponsive, and she was subsequently pronounced dead at the location. KCAL-TV has identified the victim as Beverly Wilkins, 59, according to her mother, Rosie Wilkins, who shared that Beverly was always eager to lend a helping hand.

Law enforcement officials have not officially confirmed the victim’s identity, only stating that she was between the ages of 55 and 60. As of early Tuesday afternoon, authorities have not released any information about the shooter.
