Knife-wielding Offender Caught in the Act Outside Pub – CCTV Footage Released

Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire – CCTV footage has been released capturing the disturbing moment when a violent offender in Kirkby-in-Ashfield prepared to stab a man outside a pub. Tyrone James, the perpetrator, was later imprisoned for the incident after punching a man in the face and carrying out a brutal knife attack.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, October 22, last year, when James, aged 41, launched a vicious assault on the victim, inflicting several stab wounds to the victim’s torso and back, resulting in life-altering injuries. The brutal attack was documented in CCTV footage, revealing the harrowing sequence of events outside the pub in Station Street.

Following the violent altercation, authorities were able to apprehend James with the help of thorough examinations of CCTV footage. By utilizing Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology, law enforcement was able to track James, his vehicle, and phone to the crime scene during the time of the attack.

Further investigations revealed that James had been frequenting various pubs in the Kirkby area that night, where he was heard making threats towards others. After leaving the area and returning home to Hucknall, James later came back, changed clothes, and was captured on CCTV concealing a knife in his waistband.

In a chilling turn of events, James, now wearing a balaclava, assaulted his first victim before launching a sustained attack on the second individual. Subsequently, James fled the scene, with footage capturing his escape in a vehicle. Following his arrest, James faced charges for the assault and appeared before Leicester Crown Court for sentencing.

Detective Inspector James Oakton of Nottinghamshire Police described the incident as a savage attack witnessed by several onlookers outside a local pub. Oakton highlighted James’ calculated actions, emphasizing the severe consequences of his choices that night which led to a victim sustaining life-altering injuries and James receiving a lengthy prison sentence.
