Las Vegas, Nevada – An arrest report recently obtained has shed light on a violent incident that occurred in a parking lot near the bustling Las Vegas Strip. The suspect, Colin Czech, was apprehended following the attack and now faces a charge of open murder.
The disturbing ordeal unfolded around 4:44 a.m. when police received a distressing 911 call from an employee at a nearby 7-Eleven on 1100 S. Las Vegas Boulevard. The caller reported a physical altercation in the parking lot, where a male assailant was seen aggressively assaulting a customer. The scene painted a grim picture as the attacker appeared paranoid, screaming, and pacing outside the establishment.
Upon arrival, officers found Czech by the victim’s side, with blood and other substances on his face, hands, mouth, and clothing. Despite attempts to communicate, Czech remained unresponsive, adding to the mystery of the situation.
The victim, known only as Kenneth, was swiftly transported to UMC Trauma Center but tragically succumbed to his injuries. Czech, displaying signs of altered consciousness, was also taken to UMC for evaluation.
While in custody, Czech made chilling claims of being tormented by a “shape-shifter,” expressing deep paranoia and a lack of sleep for days. He recounted hearing voices instructing him to harm the victim, whom he had no prior connection to.
In a disturbing twist, Czech asserted that a “higher power” guided him to use his teeth to harm the victim, even going as far as claiming to have consumed parts of their body during the attack. The shocking details of the assault painted a gruesome picture of the events that transpired.
A thorough examination of the crime scene revealed the extent of the brutality, with the victim missing a eye and an ear. Blood splatter on the concrete indicated the intensity of the force used during the assault.
Following his discharge from the hospital, Czech was promptly arrested on murder charges and is now incarcerated at Clark County Detention Center. As the legal proceedings unfold, Czech is set to undergo a competency evaluation to determine his mental state during the horrific incident. He is expected to appear in court for further hearings later this month.
