Man Arrested for Manslaughter in Fatal Shooting of 13-year-old Girl in North Lauderdale

According to authorities, the shooting occurred on August 21, 2023, when James was shot in a residential neighborhood on SW 74th Avenue at 10:42 p.m. Deputies attempted life-saving measures before airlifting James to Broward Health Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead less than an hour later.

An initial investigation by BSO homicide detectives revealed that an argument took place between James and individuals in a vehicle outside a residence on Southwest 12th Court. The situation escalated, leading to James being shot inside the vehicle.

Marc, identified as the shooter in the case, was taken into custody seven months after the incident. He was booked into the BSO Main Jail on Thursday following his arrest for manslaughter with a firearm.
