Manatee County Sheriff Investigates Triple Shooting Case; Suspect Dead in Georgia Standoff

BRADENTON, Fla. — A series of tragic events unfolded in Manatee County, Florida, as a man reportedly shot and killed three women, including his own mother. The shootings occurred at different locations, each leaving a trail of devastation in their wake.

The first incident took place at around 9:15 p.m. at a Motel 6 on 67th Street Circle East in Bradenton. Deputies responding to the call discovered a 48-year-old woman who had been fatally shot. Witnesses recounted that 28-year-old Javontee Brice, the son of the victim, was seen fleeing the scene after committing the heinous act with his motives remaining unclear.

Shortly after leaving the motel, Brice struck again, this time in Palmetto, where a 29-year-old woman was shot while sitting inside a parked SUV on 26th Street Court East near 9th Avenue Drive East. Despite efforts to save her, the victim succumbed to her injuries later that night.

Events took a tragic turn as yet another shooting was reported in Bradenton, this time on 55th Street West near 8th Avenue Drive West. A third woman fell victim to Brice’s rampage and later died in the hospital. Law enforcement agencies mobilized quickly, issuing a statewide alert for Brice’s whereabouts.

A harrowing pursuit ensued, leading authorities to Hamilton County near the Florida/Georgia state line. In a tragic end to the manhunt, Brice was fatally shot by Hamilton County Sheriff’s deputies after exchanging gunfire with them. Detectives are now investigating the possibility that Brice had intentions of targeting a fourth individual in his violent spree.
