Murder-Suicide Investigation Underway After Tragic Deaths of Pendleton County Couple

PENDLETON COUNTY, Ky. — In a tragic incident that has left the community in shock, authorities are investigating a suspected murder-suicide that claimed the lives of two individuals over the weekend. The Pendleton County Sheriff’s Office responded to a welfare check late Sunday night, where they discovered the bodies in a home on Hogg Ridge Road.

Deputies arrived at the residence around 11 p.m. after concerns were raised about the residents’ well-being. Upon entering the home, they found a man and a woman deceased. Authorities have since handed the case over to the Kentucky State Police for a more in-depth investigation.

Preliminary findings indicate that the male suspect was responsible for the shooting before turning the gun on himself. State police have identified the victims as 40-year-old Camille McClanahan and 50-year-old James Hall. The circumstances leading up to the events remain under investigation, and no suicide note has been located at the scene.

Detectives spent several hours at the site investigating the incident overnight, and while they have gathered some evidence, they are still working to understand the motive behind this tragic event. Community members are left grappling with the news, as local officials emphasize the need for emotional support and resources for anyone affected by this incident.

As investigations continue, the Pendleton County Sheriff’s Office urges anyone with additional information to come forward. This incident serves as a sobering reminder of the importance of mental health awareness and the need for open dialogues about domestic violence and mental health challenges.
