Murdered Atlanta Father’s Family Seeks Justice and Financial Support

FOREST PARK, Ga. – The family of a man tragically killed outside his home in Forest Park, Georgia have shared their heart-wrenching story with Atlanta News First. 42-year-old Eric Crowder was murdered last month outside his home on Waverly Drive. According to his mother, Linda Crowder, he was not involved in criminal activities and was simply heading out to work when the incident occurred.

The family stated that Eric got into a disagreement with his roommates on December 19, and one of them put him in a chokehold for 10 minutes and proceeded to beat him in the head until the police arrived. He went into cardiac arrest, was put on life support, and died as a result of his injuries this week. One of his roommates, 24-year-old Daniel Benjamin, has been charged with his murder, according to Forest Park Police.

In addition to dealing with the emotional pain of their loss, the family is now facing a financial struggle to bring Crowder’s body back to the West Coast for a proper burial. Those wishing to assist the family can contribute to their GoFundMe page.

The investigation by the Forest Park Police into the murder continues, and the family is left to mourn the loss of their beloved Eric Crowder, a man killed in a senseless act of violence.
