WILSON, N.C. — A tragic shooting in a Wilson neighborhood left two individuals dead and one injured, prompting police to investigate and identify a suspect, authorities reported Monday.
Officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 900 block of Washington Street around 2 p.m. Upon arriving, they discovered three victims suffering from various gunshot wounds. The deceased have been identified as Natasha Sutton, 44, and Avantae Pender, 21, both of Wilson. Tiffany Fogg, 37, also from Wilson, was taken to Wilson Medical Center, where her injuries were deemed non-life-threatening.
Law enforcement officials have named Donta Chestnut, 39, as the primary suspect in the case. He faces serious charges, including two counts of first-degree murder along with one count of attempted first-degree murder.
