Newark Hospital Attack Leaves Nurses Injured: Suspect Apprehended by Security

Newark, New Jersey – A violent attack at a South Ward Hospital in Newark on Friday morning left two female nurses and a female medical resident injured. The suspect, identified as Firdousi A. Abdul-Hakim, 37, of Newark, launched the attack, which was swiftly stopped by quick-thinking security officers at the medical center. Sources inside the facility revealed that the armed suspect, who had a connection to a patient in the Pediatric ICU department, carried out a stabbing attack on a nurse, resulting in injuries to her abdomen. The injured medical professionals were attending to very sick children at the time of the attack.

Hospital security acted promptly to detain the assailant, preventing further harm to anyone else in the facility. One of the injured nurses was taken to University Hospital for medical treatment, with her injuries reported as non-fatal. Authorities confirmed that there were no fatalities resulting from the incident. Newark Police stated that all injuries were lacerations.

An investigation is ongoing to determine the motive behind the attack.
