Oklahoma woman killed by boyfriend who calls 911 on himself then tells police they have a weird case

TULSA, OK – Police have charged a Tulsa man with murder following the discovery of his girlfriend’s body inside his home Sunday morning.

Chad Weathers, 49, was taken into custody at his residence after authorities responded to a 911 call placed by Weathers around 9:30 a.m. Officers say that the call ended abruptly after Weathers requested law enforcement assistance but gave no further details.

Upon arrival at the home, officers were met at the door by Weathers, who reportedly greeted them with an unsettling statement, suggesting something unusual inside. Authorities said Weathers then confessed to fatally shooting his girlfriend, Tanya Anderson, the previous night.

Officers entered the home, where they found Anderson’s body in a bedroom, suffering from a gunshot wound. A firearm was discovered next to her, and Anderson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Weathers was immediately detained and later booked into the Osage County Jail on a murder charge. Police have not disclosed a possible motive for the shooting or the circumstances leading up to the fatal encounter.

Neighbors in the residential area expressed shock over the incident, with several stating that the couple had lived quietly in the home for several years. Law enforcement officials are continuing their investigation, including reviewing any prior incidents reported at the residence.

Authorities have not indicated whether any others were present in the home at the time of the shooting. No additional injuries were reported.

Weathers is expected to appear before a judge in the coming days. Police say the investigation is ongoing as they work to gather more details about the events leading to Anderson’s death.
