Police Appeal for Information After Violent Robbery in Tokoroa over Matariki Weekend

Tokoroa, New Zealand – Bay of Plenty Police are seeking information following a violent robbery that took place in Tokoroa over the Matariki weekend. The incident occurred around 1pm on Friday, June 28, when a group of individuals assaulted a person and stole a piece of their clothing.

According to Detective Sergeant Neale Saunders, the perpetrators fled the scene in a white Ford Courier ute, narrowly avoiding a collision with another vehicle at an intersection. The victim sustained moderate injuries and required medical attention as a result of the attack.

Describing the incident as a brazen daylight assault, Detective Sergeant Saunders assured the community that the authorities are actively pursuing the offenders, whose identities are believed to be known. He emphasized that it is only a matter of time before the suspects are located and apprehended.
