BEACON, N.Y. — Authorities are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a potential suspect connected to a violent incident reported earlier this week on Tioronda Avenue.
The City of Beacon Police Department has released a detailed description of the individual believed to be involved in the assault, which occurred on Wednesday. Investigators are urging residents to review their security footage from that day to help pinpoint the suspect.
The individual is described as a white male in his 30s to 40s, approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall, with a medium build and a closely trimmed brown beard. He was last seen wearing a black jacket or coat that is not puffy, a black knit hat, and blue pants or jeans. This information may assist in locating him.
In a statement, police emphasized the importance of community involvement in addressing this case. They encouraged anyone who may have captured footage of a person matching the given description to reach out promptly to the local police department.
Despite the ongoing investigation, officials have revealed limited information regarding the details of the attack itself, a decision made intentionally to safeguard various aspects of the case. Authorities stressed their commitment to maintaining a balance between public awareness and victim privacy, noting that premature disclosure of details could hinder the investigation.
“The public’s concerns are taken seriously,” the department stated. “If there had been a suitable opportunity to divulge this information earlier, we would have. We recognize the sensitive nature of these investigations, especially when dealing with traumatic situations.”
The police department continues to allocate significant resources to the ongoing investigation and is collaborating with other law enforcement agencies to progress in the case.
Residents with pertinent information are strongly encouraged to call the Beacon Police Department at 845-831-4111, helping to enhance community safety and support the investigation.
