Public Appeal for Information in Murder of Surrey Woman Aisha Harouya

The city of Surrey, Canada is still reeling from the tragic murder of Aisha Harouya, a 21-year-old woman whose life was brutally taken over a year ago. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been relentless in their pursuit of justice, but they are now turning to the public for help in solving this heinous crime.

On July 25, 2022, Aisha’s body was discovered in a parking lot in Bridgeview, with both IHIT and the BC Coroners Service ruling her death as the result of foul play. It was determined that Aisha was last seen alive in Surrey on July 24, 2022, in the vicinity of 100 Avenue and Whalley Boulevard. Despite ongoing efforts, the case remains unsolved, and her family is appealing to the public for any information that could aid in bringing closure to this devastating loss.

Aisha’s mother, Ashni Ram, expressed her heartbreak and devastation in a statement, sharing that her daughter’s life was cut short, robbing her of the opportunity to pursue her dreams of attending college, getting married, and becoming a makeup artist in Los Angeles. She emphasized that Aisha’s love for animals and passion for fashion defined her as a person, and she urged anyone with knowledge of Aisha’s whereabouts on the days leading up to her death to come forward.

Amidst the pain and grief, Aisha’s family is seeking justice, not only for their beloved daughter, but also for all young women who have fallen victim to violence. They are pleading with the public to come forward with any information, no matter how small, that may lead to a breakthrough in the case. The family is urging anyone with relevant details to contact IHIT at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or email them at ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.

The need for closure and justice in Aisha Harouya’s case remains crucial for her family, and the public’s assistance is vital in bringing those responsible to account for their actions. The quest for answers continues, as the community stands in solidarity with Aisha’s loved ones in their pursuit of justice and peace.
